You are IT LUVOURPETSLONGER!
Three questions for Lisa Costello, founder of LUVOURPETSLONGER.
Why did you start your business?
I started my online pet health and wellness business 14 years ago. It was the perfect fit for me because it allowed me to pursue my passion of helping people and the animals they love live longer, happier, healthier lives. I work with a small, employee-owned business that has been making health and wellness products for dogs and cats for 25 years with no recalls. I am proud to be able to share these veterinarian formulated products that are complete, balanced and safe.
What is your best-selling product/service?
We offer a range of uniquely formulated products focused on ingredients that help your pets live up to their full potential, including:
– Food for dogs and cats
– Sweets
– Supplements
– Pet care products
Our best selling product would be our custom dog and cat foods which are a great alternative to mass produced products as they are NOT SOLD IN STORES but are often made in small batches and delivered straight to your door within 1-2 days.
Creating personalized formulas for pets is an art form. Down to the last micronutrient, each selected ingredient has been chosen not only for its overall benefits, but also for how it interacts with other ingredients to nourish the body and all of its complex systems. Prepared well, these truly healthy foods address all parts of the body, inside and out. With a focus on gut health, including species-specific probiotics as well as our proprietary fiber blend, aptly named Firmtastic, creates firmer, less stinky stools as they help your pets develop a healthy gut. healthier. And the health of their intestines ultimately determines your satisfaction, because you have to follow them. Their stomach is the starting point for their overall well-being and is home to the bacteria that play an important role in their digestion, immune health, mood, and overall well-being.
Here is what we remember from these recipes:
– No artificial flavors or colors
– No corn or corn gluten
– No wheat or wheat gluten.
And with our strict inventory controls and quality assurance testing, we can guarantee the safety of every tasty bite. Our employee-owners watch over each product until it begins its journey to you from one of our facilities. Made in frequent batches, you can be confident that our rigorously developed and thoroughly tested foods will give your pets the abundant nutrition you are looking for.
Have you “reinvented” your small business?
Covid changed a lot of things: with the lockdown in place, we were unable to promote our products by organizing local events. Therefore, we had to change course and start using social media (i.e. Facebook) more. Using my personal page, I started to stand out by sharing relevant pet-related topics and using my boy Jake as my brand ambassador (by the way, he’s better known than me lol)! This allowed me to build relationships with other pet moms, which opened up discussions regarding their own pets. This allowed me to share my nutrition resources and offer them free samples and wellness assessments. I then developed a Facebook group called PAWsome pet moms where pet moms could interact, have fun and meet other pet moms and I could share more pet related content and my nutrition resources. A win-win for everyone!
Finally, supply chain issues have also impacted the pet food industry. Pet moms were struggling to find food for their pets – through our direct-to-consumer distribution model, we were able to maintain a constant supply of food and offer pet moms a very desirable alternative for their pets during a very anxious time!
Lisa would like to nominate Dr. ANDREW MARSH, DVM of Greenfield Veterinary Hospital to be presented next!
