The following is a partial transcript of the video.
Katelyn Carney, DVM, DACVIM (LAIM): So some tools that we can use to improve our personal well-being, that brings us back to micro-practices in my mind. Even on my good days, I don’t necessarily consider myself an athlete (and sometimes I’m right), but the physical aspects of training aren’t necessarily where I think about my strengths. And when we think about wellness, it’s really, really important to build on your strengths.
So the well-being of teams in clinics, in hospitals, when I think about it these days, what really comes to mind is the idea of nourishment. Cultivate teams with strong psychological safety. So what do we mean by this: is there a culture within your practice where disruption is welcomed? Hopefully they feel safe enough to be able to bring concrete ideas to their teammates, to their leaders and feel like it’s no big deal.
