José Lizárraga, RuPawl’s human, tells Dogster that RuPawl’s popularity happened around the time the American reality competition television series RuPaul’s Drag Race began to become more mainstream after the series moved to VH1.
“We quickly became popular with Drag Race fans and the queens themselves.” RuPawl recently turned 6 (actually 9, says José, but you know they don’t want people to know their real age) and loves dressing up, taking long nature walks, hunting wild rabbits, flirt with wild deer, eat organic and take naps. “They don’t like carrots…yes, kind of randomly,” José says, “but they literally choose the smallest piece of carrot in any dish we cook for them.”
