Rio is a 10 month old male Saluki Cross. He currently resides in Oman. He was rescued along with his two sisters after being found on the dangerous streets of Muscat.
Rio and her sisters are still with the lady who saved them. Rio is a nice little guy.
Rio doesn’t have much experience of the world in general and so will need a very kind and patient owner to let him explore the world and gain confidence at his own pace.
Rio underwent surgery on his front legs earlier this year. He had an ulna osteotomy on each forelimb because one of his forelimb bones (the ulna) on each side had not grown as it should.
The vet advised that if left untreated it could cause pressure on the elbow, causing elbow dislocation and arthritis as an adult.
The surgery, however, prevented this from happening and allowed him to live a happy and comfortable life!
Rio grew up around dogs and cats and gets along well with both. Due to the number of pets in his current home, he only goes for walks twice a week, but he is on a leash and wears a harness.
Rio’s ideal home would be in a semi-rural location, with or without other pets and older children (if any), as he is not used to children.
