A leading non-profit animal rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming organization, TEARS Animal Rescue is seeking a full-time Veterinarian position to join our team.

We have a small in-house lab, digital x-rays and use of the Idexx (external) lab if required. We go the extra mile for our patients and provide them with the best possible care and treatment.

To do this you will need:

  • Responsibility for veterinary care of animals; including care of a veterinary clinician, veterinary surgery, veterinary SOPs to be observed at all times.
  • Inventory of hospital medications, manage stock levels and usage and capture in Vetmaster, verify that correct documents are used, manage communication between clients, administrative office and shelter staff.
  • The husbandry protocol, cleaning and hygiene protocol ensures that the clinic environment meets the right standards of cleanliness.
  • Staff training, AWA training on a weekly basis, skill building of potential clinical staff to deepen their veterinary knowledge.
  • Staff management issues, adequate drug and food stock levels in each department, staff control of veterinary drugs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary
  • SA driving license and own vehicle
