Hunter is a 2-3 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. He’s a lovely boy and there’s no aggression in him. His enthusiasm is all playful, but he must continue his training.
Hunter is a big boy with long legs, very affectionate and likes a lot of excitement. He is an agile boy and likes to be given things to do, so we think he would enjoy agility or benefit from joining an obedience class.
Ideal for people who have a decent sized garden and enjoy walking. Hunter has had some training, as he sits down to please himself and have fun.
Hunter was recently rescued from death row. He is friendly, loving and eager to please. The hunters settle in and seem to have a routine.
Hunter eats well and is very affectionate, wants cuddles and wants to sit next to someone all the time and is happy to go to his room at night and sleep.
Hunter seems to be house trained (we had a few accidents when he first arrived but it’s improving a lot).
We persevere in his training because when he is distracted he focuses on what is distracting him and it is difficult to bring his attention back to us, but we use training techniques.
The problem we’re having is that he and the cat unfortunately don’t get along.
Hunter is very energetic and wants to play and chase her to play and she’s having none of it, so we try to keep them separated now.
Hunter is not yet good on a leash when pulling so we have a harness for him that works well with him so this training just needs to be continued as he is interested in chasing squirrels and wants to say hello to other dogs and to people.
We stop every time he pulls and he is a strong boy, especially when he wants to join another dog, which we think it is for play but we don’t know for sure. This all gets better even though we now have a harness for him.
Hunter is currently in foster care in Cannock, West Midlands. Adoption fee: is £185. All of our adoptions are subject to successful home checks.
