See how First Ladies transformed the White House for Christmas

Reindeer hang high in the air in the Grand Foyer, while in the East Wing Lobby and East Colonnade, oversized candies and fairy lights hang from the ceilings. In total, there are 98 Christmas trees spread throughout the White House – including the official 18.5-foot tree in the Blue Room – as well as nearly 34,000 decorations and more than 142,000 Christmas lights in the local, according to the White House. And, after last year’s historical beginningthe White House Hanukkah menorah will also be on display – the first to be commissioned by the executive residence and entered into its permanent collection, rather than being temporarily on loan.
