Yes, you read correctly: the Plufl is a bed for human dogs! Designed by two college students who loved to nap, the idea for the Plufl came about when they noticed how cozy a dog looked napping in a huge dog bed at their local coffee shop.
Since then featured on Shark tank, Hello America, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more, the Plufl has definitely caught the attention of serious nap enthusiasts and serious dog lovers alike. When we were offered the opportunity to review the Plufl, I had to see for myself what this human dog bed was and if it would be a good fit for our multi-pet household.

We were offered a Plufl; All statements and opinions are entirely our own.
What is a Plufl?
The Plufl presents itself as a human dog bed-but what does that mean? Well, it all depends on how you want to use it!
You can choose to snuggle up in the Plufl for a nap at your leisure or choose to snuggle up with your dog.
If, like us, you’ve ever had to sleep on the floor while one of your dogs was recovering from surgery or an injury, Plufl is a great way to comfortably sleep next to your dog.
And, of course, the Plufl can be used as a large bed for one or more dogs (or, as in our house, shared between dogs and cats!). The size, padding, and material of the cover are intended to provide comfort for naps or lounging. for pets and their owners.
What makes it different
Unlike a conventional bolster dog bed, Plufl has features designed specifically for humans, including two carrying handles (which can also be used to fold the bed for storage) and a pocket for your phone or book.

The bed is covered in vegan fur, a plush Minky-like fabric that is simply incredibly soft. (If your dog doesn’t want to lie down with you, you might find yourself petting the fabric!) The Plufl’s faux fur cover is machine washable and can be dried on low heat.

The bed is large – 68 inches long and 33 inches wide (although part of that is taken up by the large bolster that surrounds the bed. I’m 5’3″, but when lying down, my feet were on the lower bolster, so for nap time. side position would be more likely.
Like a classic dog bed, the base of the bed is covered in non-slip fabric.

How to assemble a Plufl
The Plufl arrived in a large box (much to Isla and Barli’s delight). It comes in a few pieces, so ask a friend for help in putting the bed together. It’s not difficult at all (and requires no tools) but it’s good to have an extra pair of hands.

The first step, the day before assembling the bed, is to unpack the bed and open the package of bolsters and the mattress. These are vacuum packed, so they need to be opened to ‘grow’ to their full size before you start to assemble the bed.
The next day, all you have to do is collect the assembly instructions, spread out the base and unzip it at both ends.

Look for the interior zipper with the blue puller and unzip those zippers; you will use them to pass the bolsters.

Once the bolsters are on and closed with the zipper, it is time to put the mattress in place. The Plufl is made with “Certi-Pur orthopedic foam with a gel-infused cooling air memory foam mattress topper” – it’s definitely a comfortable mattress. (And it’s easy to see why Plufl promises “the best nap of your life.”)
