2 cups of water
Half a cup of white vinegar
1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid
1 tablespoon of salt
Mix everything and store the solution in a spray bottle. You can now apply the cleaning solution to the stained area of the carpet and use a cloth or sponge to work it into the area. The stain should start to come off almost immediately, but you can leave the solution on for a few minutes if necessary. Then simply blot the area with a towel and let it dry.

Older pet stains may require a little more elbow grease and a slightly stronger cleaning solution to remove, but it can be done. For this solution, you will need the following:
1 cup of water
1 cup of white vinegar
2 teaspoons of baking soda
Add it to a spray bottle and shake it well. Remember to shake the spray bottle before each use. These ingredients like to separate if left for a while.
You can now spray the stained area of your carpet. Let the solution soak into the stain for a few minutes. You can use a dishcloth or cloth to blot the area. If you notice the stain coming off the carpet onto the carpet, continue blotting the area until it is dry. If the stain is very persistent, applying more solution and letting it soak a little longer should do the trick.
