Mid America Pet Food is voluntarily recalling three lots of its Victor Super Premium, Select Beef Meal & Brown Rice Formula dog food on Monday, October 30 due to possible Salmonella contamination.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the voluntary recall came after a third party conducted random sampling and products from three lots tested positive for Salmonella.
The recalled products were manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and were distributed to various distributors and retailers across the country.

Fortunately, no human or animal illnesses have been reported to date.
The FDA advises retailers and distributors to immediately remove recalled products from their inventory and shelves. And consumers are urged not to give the recalled products to pets or any other animals.
Additionally, the FDA strongly recommends against selling or giving away the recalled products, but rather destroy them in a way that no humans or animals can access them.
The FDA also reminded consumers to “wash and disinfect pet bowls, cups and food containers. Always be sure to wash and sanitize your hands after handling recalled foods or any utensils that come into contact with recalled foods.
