A leading non-profit animal rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming organization, TEARS Animal Rescue is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead our Marketing Team ~ which consists of a Social Media and Events Coordinator respectively .
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing TEARS’ annual marketing strategy, plan and budget. This includes all B2C fundraising campaigns, adoption and marketing activities, B2C events, digital and social media strategy, annual reports, consumer marketing and media liaison, planning content production and focus on B2C revenue generation for TEARS; and meet the marketing needs of all departments. The Marketing Manager is responsible for achieving all marketing revenue goals each year and managing the marketing calendar and team.
Please note that this is a mid-level agency role.
You must be comfortable with social media, have excellent attention to detail and be computer literate with excellent writing and numeracy skills. Experience working in a marketing agency role or in a fundraising environment is essential. Agency and non-profit experience is a definite advantage.
To do this, you will:
Drive the overall strategic marketing direction of TEARS in alignment with our goals and plans across the organization.
Develop and manage TEARS annual marketing strategy, plans, budget and oversee fundraising campaigns and events.
Manage and maintain the marketing calendar
Achieve marketing goals and revenue targets set each year ensuring that expenses are not exceeded
Effectively manage the marketing team, ensuring that staff are trained and meet their KPIs.
Plan and execute TEARS campaigns online and offline
Establish and manage a content and communications plan and schedule for the organization
Inform and manage the production of content for use in TEARS communications, platforms and channels
Ensure that TEARS staff and TEARS points of contact are trained to promote TEARS programs and activities.
Maintain and communicate regularly with and develop a list of marketing volunteers
Build relationships and maintain a pool of volunteers to assist with marketing activities
Manage, market and coordinate all TEARS B2C events and event calendar
Support TEARS B2B events
Manage TEARS annual public relations plan, increasing TEARS visibility in the public sector.
Develop advertising campaigns to support fundraising projects and events
Act as media liaison by handling and responding to all questions and complaints from the public
Manage digital marketing on website content management, mailers and social media as well as digital advertisements
Manage inboxes
Track the return on investment of campaigns and events
Monthly report to the CEO and quarterly to the Board of Directors
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education in marketing/public relations/sales
SA driving license and own vehicle
own a computer
Understanding of POPIA and data privacy management
CRM on an online CRM tool
Excel and excellent writing skills
Strong research and communication skills
Event planning and organization skills
Analysis and problem solving
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent management skills
Knowledge of the Adobe Suite, Trello, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
Channel marketing experience
Good attention to detail and strong time management and organizational skills
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Experience in a non-profit organization or animal/animal industry is a bonus
