This is a review of the King of the Cat Tree Climber by British feline behaviorist Anita Kelsey.
I recommend studying the brand’s big feline climbers King of the cat tree for a while now and so I was delighted when they kindly donated one of their climbers to a cat customer of mine called Candi.
I responded to this generous offer by telling them that I would give a free review of their products. I will point out now that I was not paid for this review which is my honest and genuine opinion.
Candi is a very sweet rescue with the most amazing white fur and two different colored eyes – one blue and one light green. She was placed in several homes with other animals and in both homes she failed to thrive. In one of the homes, she was relentlessly harassed by another cat and that’s probably when she started pulling out her fur.

The people Candi was returned to, after two failed rehomings, were very sad to see how much she had withdrawn into herself and were very concerned about her grooming. It was obvious that Candi didn’t do well around other cats and also, in such a strange setting, it became obvious that people had to get it right the third time.
My human client, who had recently lost a beloved cat in a car accident, contacted me to help her find the right cat for her home and individual circumstances.
I started looking online at cats at various rescue centers in London and East Sussex and that’s when I came across Candi. I knew she would be perfect for my client and so steps were put in place to go visit her. Initially, paramedics said Candi had a supply on her, so my client thought Candi was no longer available. However, when she went to visit the other cats in the house, she found a beautiful white moon face with gorgeous eyes looking at her. Luckily for us, the people who had booked Candi didn’t come to take her home.

I contacted Cat Tree King because my client was having trouble buying Candi everything she needed. I offered to do a review of the climber – The Maine Coon Lounge – in exchange for Candi receiving the climber.
Luckily for Candi, Cat Tree King agreed and in less than a week, Candi received her gift from them. My client and Candi could not have been happier.
I will now review this climber but I actually love all the cat products from this brand because I haven’t found many other climbers that can support the weight of large breed cats like Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest, British shorts. hairs, Siberians and Ragdolls while being perfect for a multi-cat household.
Cat Tree King is a Dutch company. Their products are well made and they have heavy bases that make them sturdy, which is something all cats need to feel safe.
What I love about this climber that Candi kindly sent is the fact that it’s quite compact and has a nice heavy base and nice big scratching posts. The platforms are a good size for cats to lie/stretch on and the colors are really beautiful with luxurious material.
The large step/platform allows cats to easily reach the very large bed at the top, which has a removable and washable 5 cm thick pillow. Luxury indeed.
Here’s Candi enjoying her wonderful gift shortly after it was assembled.
Cats need climbers to stimulate them, to stretch their arms and paws, to scratch and relax. They play an important role in a cat’s life and are especially important for multi-cat households.
A nervous cat is more likely to stay in the same room if it can feel safe and elevated, which works well if a cat is afraid of children. If there are two cats not riding the climbers, this helps relieve tension, with one cat perhaps choosing to be up high and another on the ground.
All of my customers who have chosen a cat climber from Cat Tree King have loved them and although they are more expensive than some other climbers, they are extremely well made, meaning they can last the life of the cat . This means it’s a worthwhile investment and one that saves money in the long run! A bit like choosing good furniture for the humans in the house.
I give Cat Tree King and Maine Coon Lounge 5 stars and Candi agrees with me. Difficult to get it out!!
Thank you Cat Tree King!!
