Authorities in Houston, Texas rescued an unconscious dog left in the heat by its owner on the second floor of an apartment balcony on Monday, August 21.
THE Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan RosenAnimal cruelty investigators and the Ponderosa Fire Department learned of the dog’s plight from concerned citizens and moved quickly to save the dog.
Talk to KHUChief Animal Cruelty Investigator Jay Chase revealed the dog had been on the balcony without water for several hours before being rescued.
According to Harris County Constable Precinct 1, even as the rescue team reached the balcony, the poor dog did not move at all.
Sergeant Joseph Soto of Harris County Precinct 1 shared: “We noticed the dog was breathing, so we moved quickly to get him off the balcony..”
Soto added, “Reporting the cruelty made all the difference in getting him the help he desperately needed. »

The dog has since been removed from the apartment and is in the care of Houston SPCA.
As users online worried about the dog’s condition, Harris County Constable Precinct 1 shared the dog’s condition in a few comments on Facebook, “The dog is fine. I just checked with the SPCA” And “yes the dog is fine from 6:30 p.m. tonight”.
Meanwhile, it turned out the owner was out of town at the time of the incident. According to KHOU, there will be a hearing in 10 days to determine who owns the dog.
Harris County Constable Precinct 1 reminded the public that in Texas you can be fined $10,000 and sentenced to two years in prison for animal cruelty.
