Horca is a 4 year old female English Setter. She arrived in British foster care in Essex in July. She lives with two resident Setters, cats and a child and is doing well.
“What a cuddly little monster. His favorite place is snuggled up on or next to a human on the couch.
Horca has no sense of personal space and thinks she’s a lapdog: as soon as you sit down, she climbs everywhere for attention and fuss. We work on jumping and pretending to be a koala!
Horca has commandeered the sofa and during the day she will happily sleep there alone (while I’m in my office at the other end of the house) or right outside my office until it’s time for a walk.
Horca behaves well in the car when we get out and snuggles up in the backseat. Once out for a walk, she pulls a little on the leash but we are working on it. No problem meeting other dogs, although she can be very excited about meeting a new one and a bit shy around new humans.
We have been to a secure field several times and she enjoys running and chasing birds. Horca lives with cats at the moment and is very interested, but she could live with confident, dog-savvy cats with proper introductions.
Horca loves water and enjoys a dip in the garden pond!! Horca is a lovely girl and we think she would do well as an only dog with lots of human companionship.
Horca’s date of birth is June 6, 2019. Prior to being placed in foster care in the UK, Horca was another of many surplus hunting dogs donated to the shelter we work with in Northern Ireland. Spain.
If you would like to give the lovely Horca a home, she is available at Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue. Liza is currently in Essex but her bag is packed and she is ready to travel to her special home in the UK. Will it be with you??
