Lucky is a 4 year old crossbred female. She currently resides in Kent. She is a happy, active and affectionate dog. She loves spending time outdoors so is looking for a home with a decent garden or plenty of secure outdoor space.
Lucky will suit the active family to accompany beautiful, long walks. Lucky is trained in cleanliness and leadership. Sleeps all night in his dog bed. Don’t go upstairs. Can be left for 3 hours without problem. Knows basic commands and does not chew or destroy anything.
Lucky is in Foster in the United Kingdom and this is what people say about her: “Lucky is so adorable, that’s what everyone says when you meet her. It’s smaller and lighter than it appears in photos and videos, no bigger than most people’s knees.
Lucky loves meeting people and saying hello to other dogs on walks. She likes to chase squirrels, so we do not recommend her living with cats or other furry animals unless she is properly cat tested.
Lucky has a huge sense of adventure and would benefit from an active family. She was born to enjoy the great outdoors. It was nice to take her to the beach and see her jump in the waves. She is certainly brave.
Lucky travels so well in the trunk of the car, attached to a harness, that we forget she is there. Besides being active, she also knows when she wants to relax. This can be snuggled up alone on her bed if she wants her own space, or snuggled up to you.
Lucky never gets too many belly rubs. She will wiggle her belly and encourage this. A typical day includes a morning walk, in a long line, because she hasn’t yet mastered recall. Or leave in a secure field. Lots of naps, enrichment time spent with his lick mat or kong filled with treats, some training time and another walk later in the day.
When left alone, she feels no anxiety and she happily relaxes for up to 5 hours. She sleeps very well, she sleeps downstairs, in fact she doesn’t come upstairs at all because we didn’t encourage her.
Lucky rarely barks, and when she does, it’s more of a deep, ooff sound that always makes me smile! She eats well. We don’t believe in taking food away from him to show him we’re the boss. On the contrary, we offer her more, such as telling her that she is a good girl when she eats.
This alleviates any stress she may have experienced due to lack of food resources prior to her rescue. It’s the same with a toy, we will always trade it for each other if she has something we don’t want her to have. This is what causes the least stress for her and for us.
Lucky is not a chewer, she can sometimes chew a bit on clothes, so we offer her a toy instead. Luck would be better with someone who has previous experience with a dog, who can take caring leadership towards her and make her feel supported, so that she doesn’t feel the need to protect herself from in any way.
And someone enthusiastic who will continue her training – she is a quick learner and very smart and knows how to sit, wait, no, paw, bed, get up, heel, crate, down (lie down). She would probably love some smell training, but we haven’t had time.
His recall and heel still need work; this is mainly due to distractions outside the home. She is a strong little beast who can pull on a leash, but towards the end of the walk she will happily trot alongside you; again, this takes practice.
Lucky is a great running companion, for safety reasons she runs on an elastic line alongside me. She has no experience with children, other than saying hello through the fence to our neighbor’s young children, who simply pet her. We therefore suggest a home without children given this lack of experience.
Lucky is a wonderful, loving, funny and sweet girl. It’s clear that she idolizes and trusts us 100% now and she can also offer that to her forever family as they slowly bond like we do.
Lucky can still be a little shy around new people and if she needs her space she will let you know, using something like a lower level form of communication like a growl, so you know you need to back off .
Here are my final words for the perfect relationship with Lucky. Take leadership and she will be your most loyal and loving best friend. She will look you deeply in the eyes and allow you to truly care for her very big, special heart.
You may save her, but she can also save you. We can’t wait for her to begin her next exciting chapter with many happy years of love and companionship with her special forever family. Lucky has no known health problems; sterilized. Complete vaccination pack, provided against worms and fleas, microchip, kennel cough.
