Seb is a 4 month old cross male. He currently lives in a private shelter in Romania with NGO rescuer Andreea Berar. He is fully subjected to blood tests, including for brucellosis.
Seb will be treated against fleas and worms. Not neutered due to age currently. Seb is in a private shelter after being found in the rain with his mother and siblings.
Seb did not show any behavioral problems when he was in a safe shelter, this does not mean that in a new home environment with all the new sights, sounds and smells he will not need support as he will need a lot of support like any rescue. coming from a shelter to a family environment.
Seb is not used to living in a home and will need support with training and toilet training. Seb has never bitten whist in a shelter. He’s a puppy and he uses his mouth to explore the world. Any puppy that is nipping and playing will need to be redirected and the appropriate toys and chews will need to be provided.
Seb will need full training and continued socialization in his new home. He’s moving into a new house, so don’t stress too much about exercise. We need him to feel comfortable in his new environment, with new people, noises, smells and sensations before we subject him to additional, overwhelming stimuli and overload his ability to understand these experiences.
Allow Seb at least a week to inspect his house and garden before taking him out or introducing him to friends and family. The trick is to take your time! This cannot be emphasized enough. He must be accustomed and comfortable with the walking equipment before taking him further.
Seb is happy to meet new people. But pay attention to how the first presentations go. Everything will be very new to him and he needs time. He may be nervous during the first few meetings and if he shows signs of stress, he should be removed from the situation.
Seb lives with many other dogs in a secure shelter where he has shown no signs of aggression or dominance towards others. He likes to spend his days playing with his brothers and sisters. Seb does not meet or live with cats.
Seb has no known allergies, intolerances or issues with any food while in a safe shelter. He is young and the treats will be perfect to help him train. A bland diet should be given initially, gradually introducing your chosen food.
Giving him time to decompress and adapt to his new environment is essential to his support. Increase his alone time in a short period of time.
Set your boundaries early on so he doesn’t get confused. Providing a den or crate could also give Seb a safe space to retreat. Resident and visiting children 10 years and older would be acceptable. No known health problems.
Seb is not used to traveling in a hospital environment, so he will need support. Adopters should be aware of their actions and expectations, as well as the dog’s body language during any potentially stressful encounters.
Don’t expect to bring home a perfectly adapted dog who will require minimal input from you in its training. A secure garden with a limit of at least 5 feet.
Seb will come directly to his home by approved transport. We advise adopters to take at least 2 weeks from any engagement to help settle their new arrival.
