Southwark Cathedral Cat with Hodge The Cat
It was such a fun day on Saturday 6th August when I was invited to chat at the famous annual Cat Stories, at Cathedral South, presented by the equally famous cat Hodge!
I hopped on the early morning train from sunny Hastings with a coffee in hand and a heavy suitcase full of my two books. Claws & Let’s talk about cats. The Southwark Cathedral Cat Chat with Hodge The Cat was the highlight of my weekend.
Luckily for me, a charming train passenger helped me carry my heavy suitcase onto the London Bridge platform, where I then carried my stash of books to the incredibly beautiful Southwark Cathedral.
The day was shared with many other speakers, including Dr Jo Lewis, The Cat Vet, and behaviorist author Celia Hammond.
This is my first time meeting both ladies and it was lovely to share our books and expertise at this ticketed event, which concluded with a Q&A panel.
My talk was about my book Claws, which is a collection of true stories from my time as a mobile cat groomer in and around London. The presentation was done as an interview hosted by Mandy Bell, a wonderful interviewer. It was so much fun talking about the cats I’ve cared for as well as a few special clients.
We laughed a lot, which is exactly what we wanted. It’s always good to be light with some introductions and not be so serious about the cats we love.
That was for the other presentations but mine was light and funny and even the TV presenter Benjamin Potter I laughed, enjoying every minute.
After my talk, I was able to chat with some of the audience and sign both books, which was a joy.
It’s so nice to receive support from cat lovers and also pass on information in a way that brings smiles and light relief.
Once the event was over, I rushed to meet the UK’s most important cat. HODGE!
After a quick mindful head massage, it was time to say goodbye.
Another successful day of educating and laughing with Britain’s lovely cat lovers.
Till next time……
