Chris Tilt says he’s heartbroken by the discovery
A sheep owner has described his heartbreak after finding four decapitated heads of his sheep in a field.
Police believe they were cut with some sort of sword during the attack in Dodford, near Bromsgrove, last week.
Chris Tilt, 29, said the bodies of the rare breed sheep were taken away and three other whole ewes were also stolen – with another dying from stress.
He said he was “really concerned about who could do such a thing.”
The incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. BST on June 22 and 12:00 p.m. the following day.
Mr Tilt raises sheep as a hobby and describes them as pets, but had to move the remaining ewes to a secret location.
Mr Tilt added: “I am heartbroken and devastated that innocent animals have been brutally killed.
“Why do something like that? Especially with a sword and to take out heads too.”
The 29-year-old, who works as an agricultural contractor, raises these rare breed sheep as a hobby and describes them as pets.
He has now moved the remaining sheep to a secret location because he fears it will happen again.
Specialist rural crime officers from West Mercia Police attended the scene and are carrying out investigations.
West Mercia Police have asked anyone who witnessed anything unusual in Dodford to come forward.
Inspector Richard Field said: “This is barbaric. You have had pets carved or killed that are pets for no reason.
“There is no motive behind this crime.
“This has had a ripple effect within the Dodford farming community because it is a very rare event. They are now worried it could happen to them.
“I am appealing to anyone who was driving in and around the Dodford area and saw anything unusual to contact us.
