Maui Humane Society Reduces Adoption Fees by Participating in National Program “Empty the shelters” campaign starting today until July 31, the shelter announced.
BISSELL Pet Foundation is partnering with MetLife Pet Insurance for the national low-fee adoption event, which will feature more than 335 shelters in 44 states with animals available for adoption for just $50 or less, according to a release from Maui Humane joint press. Society and BISSELL Pet Foundation.
The Maui Humane Society’s discounted adoption rates during the campaign will include $50 for adult dogs and kittens; $25 for small animals, including guinea pigs and rabbits; and $10 for adult cats. Animals available for adoption can be viewed at mauihumanesociety.org/. If a blue banner indicating “adopted family” is reflected in the photo of the animal, an appointment is necessary to visit the animal. To make an appointment, call (808) 877-3680, ext. 21.3, during the shelter’s new operating days, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The humane society has made urgent calls in recent months for animals to be adopted or fostered, as extreme overcrowding at the shelter puts some animals at risk of euthanasia. Every day, the shelter takes in an average of four to five stray animals, the humanitarian association said in May.
